We may ask you to confirm your identity
We aim to respond within 30 calendar days
There is no charge for making a request

If we cannot release something

Occasionally part of a record cannot be released — usually because it contains private information about another person. We will explain what and why in writing, and tell you how to complain if you disagree.

If we do not agree a correction is needed

You can ask us to attach a statement to the record saying you believe it is wrong. That statement stays with the record.

You can complain externally

If you are unhappy with how we handle this, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes privacy complaints on 1300 363 992. Read our privacy policy.
